Founding nursing team · Telehealth · Australia-wide

Help us launch a medicinal cannabis clinic patients actually deserve.

We're Golden Ratio Clinics, a patient-first, telehealth medicinal cannabis practice built around doing this the right way. We're looking for two founding nurses: a Nurse Practitioner to lead our prescribing, and a Registered or Enrolled Nurse to be the warm first voice every patient hears.

Care over volume, by design
Why we exist

Named for a proportion found everywhere in nature

The golden ratio, 1.618, is the quiet maths behind a seashell, a sunflower, a galaxy's arm. We took the name because we believe a clinic, done properly, should feel that way too: balanced, unhurried, and built around the patient rather than the volume of scripts. Initial consults are free. The prescriber is never paid more for seeing more. Compliance isn't a chore we tolerate, it's the whole point. We're a small founding team, and the two nurses we hire now will help shape how this clinic practises medicine for years.

The Two Roles

Two nurses. Two very different days. One shared mission.

Pick the role that sounds like you, the detail changes completely depending on who you are.

🩺
The Prescriber

Nurse Practitioner

You're the clinical lead. You'll prescribe medicinal cannabis, flower, oils, gummies and vapes, within your scope of practice, via the TGA's Special Access Scheme (SAS-B), with our software and nursing team handling the paperwork around you so you can focus on the patient in front of you.

What you'll own

  • Lead all clinical decision-making and prescribing of medicinal cannabis
  • Run unhurried telehealth consults, assess, plan, and titrate doses properly
  • Build each patient's treatment plan and exit strategy from day one
  • Be the clinical conscience of the clinic, we want care, not three-minute scripts

What you bring

  • Current AHPRA registration as an endorsed Nurse Practitioner
  • Scope of practice that includes (or that you're ready to extend to) medicinal cannabis
  • Confidence prescribing Schedule 8 medicines with the same care you'd give opioids
  • A genuinely patient-first instinct and comfort with telehealth

Why you'll love it

  • Real clinical autonomy and proper time with patients
  • Zero pressure to over-prescribe, the clinic isn't built on consult fees
  • A founding voice in how the clinic practises medicine
  • Compliant-by-design, you'll never be asked to cut a corner

How you'll prescribe, the SAS-B pathway

Most medicinal cannabis products are unapproved therapeutic goods, so you prescribe them through the TGA's Special Access Scheme, Category B (SAS-B), an approval to treat one patient at a time. Here's what that takes, and how we make it effortless:

  • You: an AHPRA-registered Nurse Practitioner prescribing within your scope of practice.
  • A per-patient SAS-B application to the TGA (via the SAS & AP Online System). Our software pre-fills it and our nursing team lodges and tracks it, approvals usually land in ~2-5 business days.
  • A clinical justification for each patient: the condition, why approved medicines don't fit, and the benefit-vs-risk of the chosen product.
  • State/territory sign-off where required, most products contain THC and are Schedule 8 (Controlled Drugs), so some states need an extra permit. We handle the lodgement.

Not yet an active SAS-B prescriber? That's genuinely fine. What we're really looking for is the clinical expertise and the initiative to navigate the TGA and state channels and get yourself set up to prescribe, even if you're not there today. We'll back you the whole way. (As an NP you prescribe via SAS-B per patient, the Authorised Prescriber scheme is doctor-only, so we've built the clinic around making SAS-B fast and compliant.)

💬
The First Voice

Registered / Enrolled Nurse

You're the heart of the patient experience. You'll handle the day-to-day inbound calls and run the pre-screen calls, gathering history and confirming each patient is genuinely eligible before they reach the prescriber. You make people feel cared for from the very first hello.

What you'll own

  • Be the warm, human first point of contact on inbound calls
  • Run pre-screen calls: history, eligibility, and validating each candidate
  • Own intake, scheduling, and follow-up coordination
  • Keep patients feeling looked-after between appointments

What you bring

  • Current AHPRA registration as an RN or EN
  • A brilliant phone manner and genuine empathy
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable with everyday technology
  • Cannabis experience not required, we'll train you fully

Why you'll love it

  • You are the patient relationship, the role genuinely matters
  • Flexible, telehealth-first and work-from-home friendly
  • Grow with the clinic as we scale
  • A supportive, values-led founding team around you
One Clinic, Four Front Doors

You'll see four website names. It's still one job.

Different people find comfort in different tones. So Golden Ratio greets patients through four friendly faces, but behind every one of them is a single clinic, a single patient book, and a single team. Your workload is one clinic's worth, never four.

All roads lead to Golden Ratio

Four front-end faces, one clinic underneath, the same records, the same prescriber, the same RN, the same standard of care. The brands are just a friendlier way for different patients to walk through the door. For you, it's one team and one book of patients.

Why Join Us

A clinic you'll be proud to tell people you work for

The medicinal cannabis space has earned some of its bad reputation. We're deliberately building the opposite kind of clinic, and that starts with the people we hire.

🤍

Patient-first, for real

Free initial consults, free follow-ups, and no one is ever charged just to ask for help. The prescriber is never paid more for seeing more patients, so the only incentive is doing right by the person on the call.

🛡️

Compliant by design

We're built around the 2025 AHPRA prescribing expectations: thorough assessment, never first-line, an exit strategy from day one, and Schedule 8 care held to the opioid standard. You'll never be asked to cut a corner.

🏡

Telehealth & flexible

Work from home, Australia-wide. We meet patients where they actually are, at home, comfortable, and we extend the same flexibility to our team. Hours are something we'll shape together.

🌱

Founding-team influence

You're not employee #200 inheriting someone else's processes. You'll help write them. The two nurses we hire now will shape how this clinic feels for every patient who follows.

⚙️

Software does the busywork

Our own in-house apps plus Best Practice as the clinical backbone handle scheduling, records, reminders and the SAS-B paperwork, so your time goes to patients, not admin.

📈

Room to grow

We're at the very start. As the clinic grows from launch toward a full prescriber roster, the founding nurses grow with it, in scope, in seniority, and in the shape of their role.

A Day With Us

The patient journey, and exactly where you fit

Here's the path every patient takes, and which of the two of you owns each step. You're never doing it alone, the software and pharmacy partner carry the rest.

The honest clinical picture: a Nurse Practitioner can prescribe Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis in their own right, within their scope of practice and via the TGA's Special Access Scheme, supported by an RN-led intake team. That's the model here: the right clinician for each task, with the paperwork engineered to stay out of your way.

How We Work Together

Two ways to come aboard

Both roles start as a 3-month agreement, reviewed together at the end. Choose whichever way of working suits you best, the work is identical, only the paperwork and the pay structure change.

📋
Option 1 · Employee

3-month contract, above award

The simplest way in. You're on our books as an employee, paid above the relevant award, and we take care of the rest.

  • Hourly or salaried rate set above award wages
  • We withhold your PAYG tax and pay your superannuation
  • Standard leave and entitlements accrue as normal
  • No ABN, no invoicing, no end-of-year surprises
Best if you want zero admin and a steady, predictable pay packet.
Higher headline pay
🧾
Option 2 · Independent contractor

3-month agreement, contractor basis

More autonomy and a commensurately higher rate, because you carry the costs an employer would otherwise cover.

  • You work as a contractor under your own ABN and invoice us
  • Pay increased to compensate for the extra responsibilities
  • You manage your own tax, GST and superannuation
  • You arrange your own insurances and entitlements
Best if you already contract, or you'd rather have a higher rate and run your own numbers.
Not sure which suits you? Tell us how you like to work and we'll walk you through both, plainly and honestly, and for the contractor option we'd always suggest a quick chat with your accountant first, so the higher rate genuinely works out ahead for you.
Good Questions

The things candidates usually ask

Yes. An endorsed Nurse Practitioner can prescribe Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis in their own right, provided it's within their individual scope of practice. Because most products aren't on the ARTG, each patient is covered through the TGA's Special Access Scheme (SAS-B), with state Schedule 8 requirements met as needed. Our team and software handle that paperwork so it never becomes a burden on your day.
For the RN / EN role, not at all. If you're a brilliant communicator with genuine empathy, we'll train you on everything. For the Nurse Practitioner role, we're looking for someone whose scope already includes medicinal cannabis prescribing, or who is ready and willing to extend their scope to it with the right training and support.
No. goldenratio.clinic, onelove.clinic, quiet.clinic and jahman.clinic are four public-facing faces of a single clinic, Golden Ratio. One patient book, one team, one set of records. The different names simply let us speak to different patient communities in a tone that suits them. Your workload is one clinic's worth.
We're telehealth-first, so both roles are work-from-home friendly and open to candidates anywhere in Australia. Hours are flexible, full-time or part-time, and something we'll genuinely shape around the right person. Tell us what works for you and we'll have an honest conversation about it.
It's the best reason to join us, not a worry. We're built to be exactly the kind of clinic the regulators want to see: thorough assessments, medicinal cannabis never as a first-line treatment, an exit strategy from the start, mandatory follow-ups, and Schedule 8 care held to the same standard as opioids. You'll work somewhere whose notes would pass an audit on a Tuesday morning.
We offer competitive remuneration for both roles and we'd rather discuss it properly than throw a number on a webpage. Tell us your situation and what you're looking for, and we'll be straight with you about what we can do, including the flexibility, the growth path, and the founding-team upside.
Just send us a note, no formal cover letter required. Tell us which role speaks to you, a little about yourself, and what you're looking for. We read every message personally and we'll always reply.

Think you might be one of our two?

We're a small team building something we'd be proud to send our own families to. If that sounds like the kind of clinic you'd want to help launch, we'd love to hear from you.
